Master Thesis in Microbial Ecology
Helmholtz Zentrum München
30.09.2021
We are looking for a Master Student interested in Microbe-Plant-Interactions.
Our working group (AG Rothballer, Molecular Microbial Ecology) is based at the Helmholtz Center in the north of Munich (Neuherberg) and is part of the Institute of Network Biology. We are working on beneficial soil bacteria with microbiological and molecular techniques.
The Thesis topic will be focusing on Quorum sensing-mediated gene control of a beneficial rhizosphere bacterium. The work will mainly comprise microbial gene expression analysis by qPCR and plant experiments with inoculated Quorum sensing mutant strains. With this, we aim to better understand how microbial signaling modulates the interaction between microbes and plants.
The starting date of the Thesis would be flexible between October and December 2021.
